Crypto art solo exhibition at Institut Français du Cameroun

In September 2023, the Institut Français du Cameroun launched an artistic residency program called ‘Correspondances’ in partnership with the french company 0x4rt Consulting https://0x4rt.com/fr_fr/. This program, pioneering crypto art in Franco- phone Africa, led me to a residency at the NFT Factory in Paris in November 2023.

As part of a series of group and solo exhibitions dedicated to the creations of the ‘Correspondances’ program recipients, titled ‘Crypto Bloom,’ I exhibited my crypto art collection, ‘LES WAFFOS,’ at the Institut Français du Cameroun in Yaoundé and Douala from June 28th to July 14th, 2024.

‘LES WAFFOS’

Inspired by the cultural heritage of the Grassfields region in western Cameroon, I created this collection to honor the distinguished individuals of my village. In the Bamileke culture, ‘Waffos’ are respected men who have made significant contribu- tions to the village through their courage, achievements, wisdom, or advice. Often appointed by the village chief, they may also inherit this title from their fathers.

This collection was generated using artificial intelligence starting from one of my original classic creations, with additional motifs added in Photoshop.

Well-received by collectors, a few editions are still available on Objkt.com:https://ob- jkt.com/collections/KT1VE135kzD1c1tdhnrxFMQqSSJPz88LLQj7″

During my vernissage in Yaoundé and Douala, I had the opportunity to share my experience as a crypto artist and digital art pionner with the general public.
